Sarah Standish
Counsellor
About me
With 27 years of counselling experience, Sarah Standish is a new addition to the group at The Amersham Clinic.
Providing professional counselling is Sarah’s lifelong career and passion. She has been fortunate to have work experience both in the U.K. and the U.S. working with individuals with diverse challenges.
Sarah has always been committed to support children and families as they navigate the challenges that life brings, whether that be learning difficulties, separation/divorce, family alcohol & drug issues and mental health issues. Sarah’s enthusiasm and expertise in working with young people led to excellent results in her last role as a High School Counsellor for 6 years.
She prides herself in being able to address hard topics and support teenagers and parents to find real solutions that make significant changes.
What I Offer
Through individual sessions with young adults 13+ and adults, Sarah brings an honest, non-judgmental approach to her work which creates relationships with others that are based in trust and integrity. Relying on person-centred and cognitive behavioural strategies, Sarah incorporates creativity, brief-focused therapy and mindfulness interventions. This means there is no “one size fits all” approach to counselling. Joining with her clients to prioritise their needs, Sarah is able to promote change and support healing and positive outcomes.
